Calling From:
The city that you will be using your prepaid phone card from. If your city is not listed, choose a city where local calls can be made to for free from your phone. Your confirmation e-mail will contain all city access numbers, allowing you to use your phone card from different locations. *toll-free numbers typically incur an extra per-minute fee.
Calling To:
The nearest city to where you plan on dialing. Choosing the closest city will ensure that you receive an accurate per minute prepaid phone card rate.
All - All cards and rates will be displayed for your chosen Calling From and Calling To locations. The type of card that you choose will depend on the length of calls you typically make. No Fee - No connection fees will be incurred when this type of calling card is used. No Fee phone cards are recommended for those who speak for variable periods of time. This type of phone card is the most popular type. Fee - A connection charge will be deducted from your calling card's balance every time you place a call. This type of card has the lowest per minute rate, compared to Low Fee and No Fee phone cards. Connection Fee phone cards are recommended for those who speak for lenghty periods of time.
There are two types of calling cards, Stored-value Phone Cards and Remote Memory System Phone Cards. One saves the balance of your service directly onto the card via magnetic strip or chip and the other stores the value of your service in a remote database.
Stored-value Calling Cards Stored-value calling cards have a magnetic strip on them like a credit or debit card. The magnetic strip stores the balance left on the calling card right on the card itself. For more detailed information see: A History of Stored Value Calling Cards.

*Note: this small rectangular chip on each cardstores the remaining balance of the card
Remote Memory System Calling Cards Unlike Stored-value calling cards, Remote Memory System Calling Cards do not have a magnetic strip on them. The user must connect to an external database in order to retrieve information about the calling card. Most calling cards that you purchase from variety stores or gas stations today are remote memory system based. The local access number or 1-800 number on the card connects you to this database via your landline or cell. See: A History of Remote Memory System Calling Cards. All calling cards instantly delivered online are Remote Memory System Calling Cards because there is no magnetic strip to swipe.
